Lazy Sunday

So I have been pretty lazy about updating this blog.  That last days of my "staycation" were pretty sweet.  I do think one of the advantages to such a vacation style is that there is no travel at the end, its really good 'til the last drop.  The highlights of the last couple days have been that I made a pretty sweet dinner, ran on a treadmill for more than 3 minutes, saw my high school friend's art exhibit, and started work.

The dinner I made was a mushroom risotto.  The idea to even make risotto was inspired by all the Hell's Kitchen I have been watching, it seems every episode someone messes up the risotto!!  It was fairly easy to make and I actually enjoyed doing it as you have to be active throughout the whole process.  Lots of stirring and adding broth and stirring and adding broth, bt the most important part is to taste ;)

Mallory and I went to the gym again, this time I was determined to run on the treadmill.  When all was said and done, it took me about 15 minutes to go 1 mile.  I can argue that I had a small warm-up stretch and thats why it took so long, but whatever, it took what it took and I know I am no runner yet.  I was just glad I picked a pace where I actually lasted 15 minutes without dying.

A few days ago I also saw a friend of mine from high school's art exhibit here in Lynchburg.  What a small world that he would be putting on a show here and I would actually get to to come see it.  I sent him a picture text of his work and we talked for awhile after, mostly about the Incredible :P  He will be back here in late August to take down his installation and I am looking forward to seeing him.

Today was my first day of actual work here in Lynchburg.  It went pretty smooth, got a new badge, and everyone was nice.  I felt very welcomed and am excited to get to know people better and get into work.  I feel very fortunate to actually like my job.  I do enjoy going to work everyday and that in itself is a great thing.

REVIEW: Sierra Nevada Summerfest
I have been thinking that some thing I would like to do on this blog is review thing.  No one cares, but whatever.  No topic in mind, I just want to give my opinion on the whatever.
Today's item is the Sierra Nevada Summerfest, in case you didn't get that from above.  I am not a huge beer drinker, and I can honestly say that majority of my friends and co-workers no far more that I do on the subject.  However, this is my blog ... SO! I liked this beer. I have had the normal Sierra Nevada Pale Ale a well as the Torpedo, all fine beers.  I did like the traditional Pale Ale better than the Summerfest.  It did go down smooth and was not unpleasant, I just didn't feel like I could eat things with it and it be as enjoyable than other beers.  I like food.  I had some pretzels with it, and though it was ok, it wasn't great.  That's my shitty review.
